China's toy market urgently needs to be rectified to adapt to the new European directive

the implementation of the new EU toy safety directive is imminent. China is the world's largest toy production and export country, and the export of toys accounts for two-thirds of the global toy market. The rapid development of China's economy is a positive factor for the country, with two-thirds of the market. Dongguan and Guangdong are major toy export provinces in China, and the export volume accounts for two-thirds of the total national export volume. Dongguan is the largest toy export base in China, accounting for one fifth of the toys exported nationwide. Toy manufacturers of famous brands in the world entrust Dongguan enterprises to produce and export toy products. Prior to the entry into force of the most stringent toy safety directive in the history of the European Union, the General Administration of quality supervision, inspection and Quarantine of the people's Republic of China (AQSIQ) had hosted the training on the new toy safety directive of the European Union for national toy export enterprises in Dongguan, urging toy enterprises to change general materials into special environmental protection materials. The limit of toxic and harmful chemicals was increased from 8 to 85, and the limit of migration elements was increased from 8 to 19

although the regulations are relatively strict, it is found in the investigation of the domestic toy market that quality problems are still emerging in endlessly, toxic and harmful chemicals exceed the standard, and it is common to use waste plastics as raw materials. A considerable part of the waste plastic is medical waste

Mr. Liu, a toy practitioner, told that some medical waste, which was made of high-quality raw materials, had already secretly become the target of illegal traders. The toys exported are not necessarily made of raw materials, but generally use high-grade secondary materials due to the need for testing. Some toys sold in China are not certified by 3C. Many of them are made directly from medical waste

in some small commodity wholesale markets, infant toys without 3C safety certification are not uncommon. From 2019 to 2020, the subsidy standard of merchants will be reduced by 40% on the basis of 2016, and the most concerned about the price, so it is difficult to avoid mixing some "three noes" products. Because of the poor firmness of the recycled secondary materials, a large amount of adhesives have to be used, so they generally have the taste of formaldehyde. The so-called two materials are toys processed from recycled waste plastics. China's law clearly prohibits the return of medical waste to the society, and it must be destroyed according to the provisions pointed out by Chen quanxun

previously, CCTV reported that toy manufacturers in Chenghai, Guangdong used secondary materials containing medical waste to produce toys. The report pointed out that many toys produced with recycled secondary materials have a pungent smell of formaldehyde

studies have shown that children are particularly sensitive to formaldehyde, which can cause chronic poisoning and even leukemia. China has clear regulations on the production and sales of plastic toys, which must pass the most basic safety 3C certification and mark the certification mark before leaving the factory and selling

in order to prevent the sample from slipping and breaking in the fixture, the European new toy safety directive is about to be implemented, and the chaos in the domestic toy manufacturing industry must be strictly controlled, otherwise the position of China's toy manufacturing industry in the world will be threatened
